GovBot Wildfire brings a real fuel-reduction project, public treatment records and a reference wildfire model into one map-based review.
Start with a real landscape
Find a town, draw or upload a project boundary, and review source-backed annual burn probability and LANDFIRE fuel classes. The map supports bounded studies in the contiguous United States; missing source coverage is reported explicitly. French Meadows in California is an optional worked example with county treatment records.
County treatment status and acreage are source records. They are not independently verified completion measurements.
Get a meaningful baseline
For a supported area, the app summarizes annual burn probability from the USDA Forest Service Wildfire Risk to Communities model, with analyzed acreage, valid-data coverage and expected annual area exposed to modeled burning.
The result includes its source, method and limitations. It does not infer risk from satellite-image colors.
What the numbers mean
User studies use the Forest Service FSim 2023 third-edition annual burn-probability raster at its native 270 m grid, representing an end-of-2020 landscape. Fuel classes come separately from LANDFIRE 2024 at 30 m. The optional French Meadows example retains its WRC 2024 product distributed on a 30 m grid from 270 m modeling. A sharper basemap helps navigation; it does not make the risk model more precise.
Average probability describes the annual likelihood at a location across the selected area. It is not the chance of a fire occurring anywhere in that entire area. The annual exposed-area measure is an expectation, not a forecast of next year's burned acres.

Who operates it
GovBot Wildfire is a prototype operated by Ideation Lab, Corp., presented under the IdeationLab brand. It is separate from the public agencies that publish its source data.
