What reaches this service, and what stays in your browser.

This notice covers the GovBot Wildfire web app and its wildfire MCP connector. The map supports user-selected study boundaries in the contiguous United States, with French Meadows as an optional public example. No account is required.

The map and your study notes

The web app sends the study boundary you select or draw to its server when you request an analysis or report. Notes you add are sent with a report request. The application processes these inputs to return the result; it does not save them in a project database, create an account, or publish them.

A report you download is saved on your device through your browser. The current page holds your selection and notes while you use it. Upload only the boundary geometry needed for the analysis; avoid personal names, owner records, confidential attributes or sensitive notes.

Data requests for your study

Place-name search uses a retained U.S. Census gazetteer on our server. National burn-probability calculations use a retained Forest Service raster. When you analyze a boundary, the server sends its rectangular geographic extent to the USGS LANDFIRE service to request fuel classes. It does not send the project name, uploaded feature properties or your notes to USGS. USGS handles that request under its own privacy policy. Study inputs and results are processed in memory and are not saved as a user project.

The AI connector

The connector accepts only three approved public area identifiers: the county mapped project area and county treatment Units 43 and 125. It does not accept addresses, private coordinates, arbitrary geometries, file paths or free-text notes.

It receives the tool request sent by your AI assistant and returns public evidence or a computed summary. It does not request your conversation history or identity. Your AI provider handles the conversation and returned results under its own privacy terms.

The wildfire service itself makes no generative-AI or Jev calls to produce these reference calculations. It does not need your AI-provider API key.

Browser requests to other services

The map loads MapLibre code and styles from UNPKG and basemap tiles from OpenStreetMap. Your browser contacts those services directly. They can receive your network address and request metadata; tile requests also identify the map area being viewed. Their own policies govern those requests.

The app does not send your study notes to those map providers. Following a source link opens the publisher's website, which handles that visit under its own policies. These information pages use local assets and do not include analytics or advertising scripts.

Hosting and request logs

The hosted service uses Google Cloud. Standard service request logs can include network address, time, request method, requested path and response status. The application does not intentionally write study geometries, notes, request bodies or MCP arguments to these logs.

Standard service request logs are retained for 30 days in the configured Google Cloud Logging bucket. Administrative audit records are separate and may follow longer provider retention requirements; this is not a promise that every type of infrastructure log is deleted after 30 days. The app does not use analytics, advertising trackers or account cookies.

Questions and removal requests

Contact hello@govbot.ai about privacy or request logs. Include the approximate time and type of request, without repeating sensitive content. If you email us, we receive the message and contact details you choose to send.

Downloaded reports are under your control. Public agency records remain published by their original sources; contacting GovBot does not remove a record from an agency's website.
